Whale Watch

Sally Brophy (b.1960) Represented by the Lyman-Eyer Gallery, Provincetown and also Now Voyager Bookstore Gallery.  Works in numerous shows, including New Bedford Art Museum, Cape Copd Museum of Fine Arts, PAAM, Cortland Jessup Gallery Group Show, Whaler's Wharf Rotunda Show, and Marion Crane Gallery, Brewster. Recent show at Printmaker's Show at the Creative Arts Center in Chatham and upcoming Printmaker's of Cape Cod Summer Exhibition show at Marion Crane Gallery, Orleans. Studied under Kathi Smith, PIAI, and Vicki Tomayko, PAAM School. Sally grew up in Central Maine and lived in Laguna Beach, CA, before moving to Provincetown where, after 20 years as a graphic artist, she found the art form that most appeals to her. "White line printmaking originated in Provincetown in 1915 and often called the Provincetown Print, involves the slow, deliberate process of cutting wood to create a line, then gradually applying paint to board and paper to produce a print brought me back to the roots of the creative process. I also like the connection I feel to Provincetown's past artists through working on a technique that began here." Sally is our neighbor at Lookout Bay with her spouse, Conny Hatch, whose work we also enjoy. We bought this piece at Lyman-Eyer Gallery, P'town, at a show featuring her work.
