William Maynard: (b.1921) Studio located at 72A Commercial St. Studied at BMFA, also Mass College of Art. Member of Boston Watercolor Society, PAAM and New England School of Art and Design (32 years, was chairman of Fine Arts Dept.). Exhibitions include: BMFA, Shore Studio, Vose Galleries, De Cordova Museum, Busche Reisinger Museum, Harvard Univ., Grand Central Gallery, NYC, Hawthorne Gallery, NYC, The Copley Society, Guild of Boston Artists and many more. In permanent collections at: BMFA, Springfield Museum of FA, Fairleigh-Dickenson Univ., Teichman Collection, NY, Fleichman Collection, Detroit, Seligman Collections, NY, Tufts Univ., Fitchburg Museum of FA, Museum of Ars and Sciences, Macon GA, plus others. He also studied for two years at Massachusetts College of Art. Mr. Maynard was on the faculty at New England School of Art and Design for thirty-two years and at one time was chairman of the Fine Arts Department. He was also a faculty member at the school of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His work is in many museums and collections through out the U.S. Now living in Provincetown, William Maynard has had a long and rich connection with Provincetown.
