Chris Storr: (b.1963 ) Represented by Harmon Gallery in Wellfleet and New Era Gallery, Vinehaven, ME. and White Magdalena House, Hingham, MA. Student of Ron Fowler, definite emerging artist to watch. Bio Note from AskArt: Chris Storr has always enjoyed the gift of creative vision. Born and raised in Arizona, early on she captured the sweeping landscapes of that region through photography. She continued in that medium after moving to Provincetown in the mid-80's. Returning to school in 1996, Chris earned her degree in expressive art therapy and decided to turn her avocation into a vocation. She began exploring different art forms including ceramics, steel forging and painting in various media: pastels, watercolors and oil. She has continued her studies by taking classes at the South Shore Art Center and Massachusetts College of Art. She is enrolled in a bronze sculpting course at the Massachusetts College of Art, and is in private training with F. Ronald Fowler. Ron's influence has helped Chris move from concept-related to image-related painting, and adopt a more realist style to her work. Her first entry into Provincetown Art Auctions in 2001 led to representation in three galleries.
